Portsmouth Senior Activity Center 125 Cottage St. Portsmouth NH Tuesdays 11am starting Nov 15, 2022

This class is designed for wise women and men in mid-life or later looking for a pain-free engagement in a lively, active life now or anticipating a longer-than-ever retirement. Drop-ins welcomed.

Unconscious habits of holding ourselves with tension can cause imbalances in muscles that can lead to pain and make movement stiff or tiring.

Alexander Technique is a User Manual for learning how to use your body-mind with less effort for soft fluid movement and relief of pain.  Through training in sensory awareness and balance, you can improve your endurance and find your built-in support for whatever you are doing.  Grace poise and ease are there for you once you learn to release habits of tension.   Sit or stand for easy explorations and wear comfortable loose clothing.

ENDORSEMENTS

Thank you Anita - I hope I let you know how much I’ve appreciated your guidance these past eight weeks. It’s been such a pleasure working with you and learning about the Alexander Technique. You are a masterful teacher.

Learning from Anita about the Alexander Technique and how to apply it to my daily life was a true gift. My sessions with Anita have changed my life in so many ways! They allowed me to see my biggest patterns that I was unaware of, and gave me tools that helped me notice when a pattern was happening as well as how to pause within it. We did our sessions over Zoom which was an incredible experience to feel the power of the work simply through her clear and thorough direction. I return to the tools I learned from Anita in times of physical and mental distress and find myself always with an open space of more possibility than I had originally conceived of.
